I was wondering what is better the .243 win, .243 WSM or .243 WSSM. I am going to use this for coyote and deer. What is the differances of the WSM and WSSM :?

I may be wrong but I don't think there is a 243 WSM. I believe the WSM's are in 270, 7mm, and 300. The WSSM's are in 223 and 243. And the 243 WSSM looks very impressive on paper. If they get a 243 bullet up past 4000fps that's amazing.

I have not shot the wssm but have been reading lots on it. From what i gather it is a real barrel burnner and more recoil than 243win also if you are planning to reload you can just about achieve the same performance with 243 win and also load data is more readily available. if this matters to you the action is limited to only wssm calibers if you ever wanted to change barrells with 243 win you could go clear up to 308 or clear down to 17 rem i think but i know 22-250 for sure hope this helps

Dogshooter is right, there is no factory loaded .243 WSM. The .243 WSSM will out do the .243 Win. by 200 Fps. which puts in the .240 Weatherby Magnum area. Should be an excellent cartridge for varmints and deer. Lawdog
