Honestly don't know what you mean by increments.  The little lines are just a way for you to tell how far you are sliding the sight.  I don't believe the lines fall into an MOA setting or at least I've never heard as much.  ;)  My BC sight is pretty touchy for adjustments.  Been planning to get a Smith ladder sight if I can ever catch them in stock when I have money. !  ;)

Tacklebury is correct, the lines are simply reference marks. They do not have any corealation to actual yardages... CW

I just used the ratio of sight separation as compared to 100 yards.  My BC 45-70 has a 32 inch sight radius.  My Williams FP has 20 marks in 0.5 inch.  So one mark is 0.025 inch and distance to front sight is 0.89 yard,  that is equal to 2.8 inches per 100 yard.

Nice math farmer and welcome.  I think you are pretty close too from my experience. with my BC I've found that if I get it within 3" of the bull with my irons leave it be.  Otherwise you keep moving up down all around.  hehe  Welcome also as I see it's your first post.

Well, you can use a dial caliper to do it, and it beats just sliding it one way too much and back again, and again, and again..........
The fancy sight with the knobs is really nice, but is a modern, not traditional design (BUT really nice!). The std. Williams peep is a hunting, not target sight.

Thanks for the welcome and the information, greatly appreciate it. I plan to use the BC more for hunting and might opt for a rear site that's easier to adjust in the field.

Hex, if you play with it enough to find 'your' point blank hunting range (ie, where the bullet rises or fall, say no more than 1.5 -2" above or below the line of sight) for the bullet and load you chose you wont need to adjust it in the field, just use some Kentucky Windage and Tennessee Elevation to hit where you want  ;) and all will be well.

Or get one of the target adjustable sights like the Williams FP-TK with gib lock knob, the NDS or Skinner, see Peep and Firesights in the FAQs for info on the Williams.
