0lder 30-30

Found at local gun shop, straight stock ,swilve band ,looks like a light weight barrel serial number of  6**** OR 60*** Very nice older rifle. Man wants 279.00 Is it worth it?  Only marking  on barrel are on side of barrel  cal. 30-30 and on side of latch the serial number.

Well I would not say its not worth it because if you want it than it depends on you. that said i just picked an older model 30-30 with pallet wood laminate stock up at cabelas used for $175.00. You can order a new one for $275.00 or 300.

I paid 200 OTD for a 30-30/20 gauge combo in nickel a few months ago.  Depends on what you want and what you are willing to spend to get it.  At a pawn shop, I would offer less and see how willing they are to make a sell.

Yeah, but what is it?  What model: H&R or NEF, Topper, Shikari, new SB2; pallet wood, laminated, plastic, custom walnut, or mannlicher stock; what sights or mounts; barrel length & profile?  Details that have significant price effect.
