Anybody got a source for "resonably priced 5mm ammo. Last gun show I went to they were asking $60. a box. I have a rifle and a barrel for my Thompson in 5mm, would like to shoot them without hocking the farm.

I would say your best bet is to get them converted to 5mm centerfire? Not sure what that involves or what brass is used but I have heard of it. That way you could reload and be able to shoot it a lot cheaper than the collectable rim fire rounds. Jim

Thanks for the reply. That sounds like a plan. I haven't seen anything on the 5mm ceenterfire, but will look in to it.

For your Contender no conversion is needed. Just buy the dies, cases and loading info and start reloading. Flip that CF/RF switch to CF and have at it. Once you've spent the money to get the dies and cases you'll find you're shooting cheaper than back when we could still buy ammo for them.
