Has anyone taken a non Handi Barrel welded a Handi lug to it and made it work ? If you have would you share with us please?

Perhaps not in the way you describe, but almost.  Tim made a "Wizard Handi", and many on here have stubbed barrels on shotgun stubs, almost the same as welding on a lug, but easier and more accurately done.

A Gentleman out in Utah has made some from scratch.He has posted his drawings on another forum for the under lug and the jig to weld the under lug to the barrel.

This is not for the average home gunsmith but it can be done and done safely with the proper fitting and welding technique.After all H&R does it too ;D

WOW! awesome link. Im a metal fabricator by trade and believe im gonna have to give this a try. ive got a welding rod oven that i was gonne get rid of , but now im not sure.

If it is legal here on GBO a group buy may be possible on the lugs and jigs. They will be sold at actual cost and it will be up to the purchaser to assemble them. The machine shop fabricating them will have a min order.If there is enough interest I will contact them and get the information.

This is a stub job in progress it is to be a 375 Winchester, but the process is the same for most anything.  Larry
