Zoli Zouve

A local shop has a nice one for $149.00.  Are they accurate enough with a patched round ball to deer hunt with?

My co-worker has taken a couple with his.  No experience with one personally.  He said it's ok out to about 70 yards for his.

I have one.
I need to play with mine more to figure out powder loads for the 230 grain .577 round ball.  It does not shoot to the sights.
The 535 grain either buffalo bore or minie ball with either 65 grains of black or the 56 grains of Pyrodex I have been shooting go where the sights go.
I bought about 100 of the buffalo rounds from Cabelas and havbe about 30 left.
I bought about 50 of the minie ball from I want ot say Dixie but it could have been from Blue and grey where i used ot get my black power shotgun stuff.

I recently had A Bernardelli 1841 Mississippi that shot a .570 ball very well at 50 yards.it would go under 2" with the crude sights and 90g of FF Goex.I thought it shot Rb a bit better than Minie balls.

For the price grab it.

swamp I'm with Horatio, for that price I would buy it. You can get this zouave sniper site from Dixie gun works, for around $30.00. that should  be great for hunting.

I have an Armi-Jager version that I purchased in a weak moment several years back.  I had not shot it and was trying to sell it then when no action decided to keep it.  Yesterday I participated in a Black Powder shoot and decided to take it along.  I tried several loads with everything I had and discovered to my (and sever others) amazement that the rifle shot a patched round ball like a lazer.
I was using F Swiss if all things and a 65 grn charge with a .28 gage wad over the powder and a patched round ball of /577 over that with Butter Bore lube.
I took 3rd in the off-hand 50 yard target class for military rifles.......GO FIGURE!!!!!!!
Now this being a .58 cal, I thought that F just might work....and it did.
Anyone else use F Swiss?  Thanks, BTW rthe "sniper sight is a vast improvement over stock especially with my older eyes.

I use 3F in everything even my 72 caliber.  It's cheaper and cleaner.

I had been shooting FF Swiss earlier in the day 'Swampman' but tried the F on a whim and was pleased.  BUT, your so right about the fouling.  AWEFUL!!!
I was just interested if it would work.  On the Swiss site, they do list F for patched round ball in calibers ABOVE.58.  I don;t plan of making this a habit, but it shot quite well with the single F.
I think going forward that the Zouave may just be my go-to rifle for our club shoots.  Sorry TC Hawkin, looks like your staying home for a bit! ;D
