they're cast from a lee r.e.a.l. mold. it stands for rifling engraved at loading. with their short length to bore ratio they work pretty good in my roundball twist barrels and ok in my 1 in 48 twist t/c barrels. for your fast twist bareel something like the lyman great plains bullet or t/c maxi-hunter would probably be better. or the not to be mentioned here new-fangled plastic wrapped bullets.

I have the same opinion as Bubba. They shot pretty well in my Zouave & Investarms St. Loius Hawken. Each driving band from the base up is a little larger in diameter so the bullet usually goes into the muzzle up to the second or 3rd band. You need to put a BP lube between the bands.

They sell a .58 call bullet also as well as 50.
So in the regular big boar rifle they should do OK. But in the fast twist round ball barrel they should do better?  Am I understanding that right bubba?

they shoot ok for me in t/c factory barrels. they shoot pretty good for me in slow twist roundball barrels. for a fast twist barrel you're most likely gonna need somethin' a bit longer like the lyman great plains bullet or t/c maxi-hunter. luck and have a good'en friend, bubba.

I cast up a bunch for my .54, with a 32 twist.  The first and second firing were reasonably accurate, but they do not carry enough lube for a third loading.  If I used a grease cookie under the bullet then they had enough lube for a five shot group.  With my fast twist rifling I had to limit my loads to 80 grains of 2F or the group opened to 8 inches at 60 yards.  With 75 grains, the group size was 3 inches.  The same gun loaded with Maxi ball projectiles turns in 2.7 inch groups at 70 yards with 90 grains of 2F.  So I do not recommend the LEE REAL bullets.
