308 bull fail to fire
« on: January 31, 2012, 12:03:51 PM »
Hey all finally got my 308 bull out for some fun. Just breaking it in so I am not to concerned with accuracy at this point. However I did have 4 fail 2 fires. All remingtons fired (20 pack) 17 fiocchi fired 3 did not, and 3 winchester fired 1 did not. I had previously cleaned and blew out the reciever till spotless. I then lightly lubed and I mean lightly. The primer indents do appear a little on the light side however. I tried to fire the loads again, making sure I pulled the trigger all the way in but they still will not fire. I just ordered a heavy duty single coil hammer spring from wolf. Do you think that will take care of it or is their something else I should be lookin for?
Also I am going to try my handloads next. These are my first handloads and if this happens with them I will be  :'( :'(   thinking I done something wrong. Any thoughts on this problem and THANKS for the help!!

Lots on misfires and failure to fire (FTF) in the FAQs including the Handi Basics.
