The Brazilian 1908 is one of the best made 98 based actions from a machining and tolerance standpoint, but they tend to be a little soft in the heat treatment area and lack the later heat treat improvements made in the 1930's.
I restrict the pre 1930 era 98 based actions to standard non-magnum calibers.
The .240 Weatherby is over bore and somewhat hard on the action with almost 30-40 percent more chamber pressure than the standard military calibers in the 98 based action. And the larger case head in the magnum case transmits more back thrust to the bolt face and bolt lugs in the 40 percent range more again. This means that if the receiver is not hard enough in the locking lug recess area, that the locking lugs will set back under the extra back thrust over time.
