I'm sure it is doable because the guy who owned my Savage/Valmet 333 Skeet before me DID it, along with several alterations that were in my opinion very questionable. The only good thing about them was they made the gun available at a "parts gun" price. But reversing them has been a pain.
Personally I wouldn't get into this just to get the gun to shoot .410s easily. It may be hard to "unfix". Ejectors are notoriously hard to "time" in some guns. I don't know that about Valmets, but since I just found replacement ejector springs for the 333, I'm about to find out.....
