Using a ultrasonic cleaner on a encore frame?
« on: January 02, 2012, 07:37:26 AM »

Has anyone used a ultrasonic cleaner on a stainless encore pro hunter or contender frame? And if so what kind of solution did you use? Was wondering if it would work to clean and shine up a stainless frame without damaging it. Thanks for your help.

Alconox (and I'm sure others) have solutions specifically developed for stainless steel in ultrasonic cleaners.   Might be worth a looksee.

You also might keep in mind that you'll also remove all lubrication in the frame, and that would require a complete tear down to replenish correctly with the correct lubes.   Not a bad thing if you don't mind going that far.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

If I do use the ultrasonic cleaner on a frame I will completely disassemble and soak. And of course relube. I was just wondering if anybody had tried it already. Thanks for the lead on a solution.
