Just remember that there is a reason that almost all custom rifle builders prefer a 700 action.

Also, I would save for a bdl or maybe even look for a used one.

You are right.  They are cheap and easy to get with tons of after market parts that you need to get them to shoot right.  Lawdog

Well I believe if we had the total production and sales figure on the savage / howa / winchester / wea. / tika / and remington the remington would be #1 on both production and sales, so I guess what the people are saying that dont care for the remington is that the majority of the shooters in the world are wrong, dont think so. :-D  :D    JIM

A choice in Rifles is almost like a choice in Pick-up Trucks ( Ford, Chevy, Dodge )

Or a choice in Women ( Blonde, Brunette, Redhead - Fat, Skinny, Short Hair, Long Hair, Bald )

Which ever one you pick, just remember, you gotta live with it for years and years, no matter what.   Sometimes it's better to get something 'used' and try it first.  That way you know what you're getting when you get a new one. :grin:
