Ultra Light Slug Hunter from GM
« on: December 18, 2011, 04:49:36 AM »
Couldn't resist buying one of these the other day. Even though the web site lists them as the Ultra Slug Hunter, they are the Ultra Light Slug Hunter. They are available in 12 and 20ga. Normally I buy from smaller mom and pop shops, but this model with the synthetic stock is a Gander Mountain exclusive order not available elsewhere. The length of pull is 13.25", which is about an inch shorter than the wood model. Will give range report when I get a chance to shoot it. Good last minute gift idea (for Santa himself). Happy Holidays

I got the 20ga. I checked the alignment of the rail by boresighting with a centered scope - she seems to be perfectly centered. I did notice that the forend is free floating on the left side, but tight on the right. I will test fire it first, but if the groups have a horizontal spread or if the group is off to the left, I will relieve the right side of the channel. Hope to shoot it soon

What piece of glass did you decide on for the newest member of your arsenal? I've been pondering about getting one for a long while.

Either an older US made Burris 4x20mm or a Sightron Compact 4x32mm. Both have generous eye relief, but the Sightron is brighter due to the 32mm obj. Very happy with both brands.

Sounds like you have it all covered either way you decide to go.
