Greetings!
My first store bought revolver is an  H&R 732, .32 S&W L, swing-out cylinder, Blue, 2" Bbl. I bought it brand new in the early 80's, and
I still have the box and paperwork. I've subsequently acquired an identical revolver in nickel, but in the Pull-Pin style. A few years later
came another earlier swing-out 9-shot in .22LR, but with the hammer mounted firing pin.I have found that the .32's handle my handloads
as well as factory cartridges; the .22 handles shorts, longs, and long rifle cartridges just fine. I would like to land a 4" or 6" barreled model to
try.
When I worked in the Gun Shop, these H&R's and Iver Johnson's sold very quickly to guys that could afford "Name Brand" revolvers... If I
didn't get to them first! As soon as I get a set of reloading dies, I intend to shoot my Iver Johnson 55 SA -Cadet- 5-shot chambered for the
little .38S&W, and see what it can do.
The H&R and Iver Johnson solid frame revolvers are made for work, and they look that way. To me, they aren't cheap looking in the least:
they exude a type of "working man's esthetic", be he (or her!) a blue-collar worker looking for an affordable defense arm, a fisherman's friend,
or hunter's back-up, a camper's unobtrusive "pot-gun", or a trappers 'coup de grace' line gun. Just plain neat!
                  Be Well!
