I lost a 4 point Friday with my Excalibur. It was a broadside 25 yard shot with a 125 grain Rage 2 blade. I had blood for about 60 yards and he broke off the bolt and I lost blood.I am guessing I didn't have any penatration. So I wanted to know what broadheads you guys shoot out of your Xbows.

I have read the reviews on Rages with the same story. I used one this last Sunday. 9 point slightly quartered to me jumped the string a little. The Rage went in midway just behind the left shoulder and out low just in front of the right ham . Buck jumped and ran 15 yrds and stood there looking around. I saw no blood on either side then he wandered out of sight. I thought I had missed but knew I heard the whack. Got down and my grandson found him piled up 15 yrds from where I last saw him. Hardly found any blood on the buck or on the ground except where he went down. He was full of blood with both lungs and the liver hit. The entry wound was atleast 2" the exit the same ($21 of bolt and head not found). I got a good deal on the Redhead Gator for half the price of Rages and they have good reviews with a similar design so I'm going to try them.

Deer hunting is mostly fun then you shoot one and it turns to work.

I use the Spitfire expandables by NAS, and they have worked very well on a number of deer. The longest one ran was about 50 yds along a ridge and the blood trail was awesome. All of them left a good blood trail, and were easily followed. All shots were approx. 30 yds. Joe

Got one, with Parker Bushwacker, G5 broadhead 100gr. Quartering to me at 28yrds. Entered front part of right shoulder, through the heart , exit out back part of left shoulder. Great blood trail for 75yrds. and down he went.
