.270 Handi
« on: November 03, 2011, 09:23:04 AM »
I got a .270 Handi in nickle finish with compostie stock a few years back, started playing with it last year, and it took a little work but finally got it shooting. When first stared playing with the gun, the best group I had was 1.5" @50yds.

I think what really made the difference was floating the forend with an O ring, and remounted the scope per FAQ's.
At the range today my smallest 3 shot group was just over an inch, with federall 130gr fusion fac. ammo, Hornandy sst 130gr 3 shot group was 1.5" @ 100yds. I'm tickled to death with this, I'm really not a great rifle shot, most of my shooting is with archery equipment.

Thanks for all the info in the FAQ's, as this really helped me understand this centerfire thing.

The 270 is a great cal. have had 2 and wish I never sold them [not handis] the best shooter was a savage 110. Do you reload? You might be abbel to get those group smaller, but 1.5" is good.
an unloaded wepon is equal to the same mass and volume as a rock.
