mudhole,

The only bullet proven to kill whitetails is a 405 grain, .457 diameter jacketed SP traveling exactly 1,221.38 fps at the muzzle.  More energy than this wastes powder and any less energy is an unethical kill.   ::)

Obviously the above was written by a BS artist, congrats on your kill and sure wish I could hunt in Ohio with a 444M.

Nice job. I haven't advanced to hunting deer yet, but roughly how much meat do you get off a deer that size? How quick do you need to get it into the cooler then the freezer? If you took it to a processor, how fast do you need to get it there, and how much would they charge you?

Hard to judge size from a pic but maybe 40 to 50 pounds, figure you get maybe 1/2 the weigh of a field dress deer.

Second question depends on temperature and what you personal opinion is on "aging" a deer.  IMHO, the sooner it gets cold the better.

$50 to $200 per deer for processing depending on what is done and where you live.

Nice deer!

Does it say something about your personality if you start to drool when you see a picture of a deer lying on the ground. When I look at your pictures I see a plate with fried backstrap and mashed potatoes with gravy poured all over both sitting next to a glass of sweet ice tea.

Maybe I am just weird.

Looks like I started something! lol

The deer was taken to be processed, namely cause I had to be at work at 1! Cut went like this, back straps butterflied, tender loins whole, ten pounds smoked saugage with jalepenos and cheese, 5 pounds of snake sticks same as saugage, rest hamburger! Did one about the same last year was like 90 bucks, all meat vacuum packed!
