Finally! I found a quality '92

I've been looking for a good quality rifle with an 1892 action in .45 Colt for quite some time.  Rossi makes them, but I'm just not real into Rossi firearms.  I know they've come a long way, but....

Anyway, I went into a local gunshop yesterday, and one of the first things I looked at was a 16" barreled Winchester model 1892 Short Rifle in .45 Colt.  A limited edition model (limited to 500), and this one's serial number was in the 50's.

Well, I pondered it a while (about 2 or 3 seconds), then did some talking and trading, and ultimately took it home with me.

I maybe shouldn't have done it, but I guess there are sometimes advantages to being single!

Thanks fellas.  I'm definitely having fun with it!

I wanted a '92 action because they're a little stronger than the '94's and I sometimes shoot some pretty heavy loads.  I'm not into the CAS stuff much, but rather intend to use the rifle for hunting.  With stout handloads (or maybe Cor-Bon ammo) it should handle anything up to the size of black bear at close range pretty well.

Take care,
