IRONGLOW;
" Somehow I can't understand why, after the last 3 years' experiences..there would still be enough clueless people to vote for Obama ahead of ANY of the conservative candidates.."
Since I have heard of alot of Democrats jumping ship on Obama, and Independants too, I concern myself with a divided Republican party and divided conservatives more than the Obamanites in this election. As mentioned somewhere above, some want to pout and stay home on election day if their favorite candidate doesn't get the nomination.
I even read a post sometime back somewhere else from a Paul supporter that said he would not vote if Paul didn't get the nomination, hoping that America would fall and "reset" after a bloody revolution. Then, in his mind, people would want Paul or someone like him for president. THAT, is what disturbs me I think even more than the Obamanites in this election. There has always been this battle between the right and the left. But if the right becomes "unhinged" in a manner such as this, it only plays to the progressives and their plan for anarchy.
Even if we are stuck voting for the least progressive in the race, it's better than staying home and wishing America would fall just to prove some kind of twisted point. How would that guy that would wish America to crash and burn even expect himself to live through it himself? Far too many reactionaries out there that don't seem to fully account for all the consequences and ramifications of their actions and knee jerk reactions. Personally, I'm not ready to throw America under the bus just because I don't get what I want.
Which sounds much like what all the "Occupy" protesters are about.
We keep fighting in an effort to win some day. Not fall on our sword......................
