I'M IN A QUANDRY
« on: October 04, 2011, 01:32:11 PM »
If this is an inappropriate place please move it.
I am posting here because some of you may be familiar with Mark Hartshorne of Pinnacle Industries.
Mar has done work for me in the past-he has good reputation and I liked his work. He presently has a S&W M586 to do a caliber conversion.
I gave him the weapon in August. At his web sites he states that there is some kind of problem--I am assuming an illness--which is taking 100% of his time.
Do any of you have any info into this situation.
I do not want to bother him--I am sure it must be serious---he has also said he will not be able to answer e-mail and has limited time to answer the phone---please be patient.
I hesitate to call.
Any advice or info will be helpful to make decisions on my situation.
Blessings

If you call to inquire about his health, he shouldn't be upset.  He'll probably mention the order he hasn't finished during the conversation.

I do not know the gunsmith you are inquiring about but I do know about family illnesses.  They take an inordinate amount of your time and any interuption seems trivial.  My recommendation is to let him deal with his problems and get his live back into order.  He will update customers as he has done and is doing his best to take care of things.

I realize he has your revolver but he needs some time to deal with other things right now.

I would like to have some idea of the time---but---that may be an unreasonable request on my part.
I do understand about illness---I agree that I should respect his privacy.
I was hoping someone could share more light on this.
I will be patient.

At least he had the basic decency, to show some courtesy, and inform his customers that he's going to be out of touch for awhlie.

It's more usual to hear/see nada.

To put it in perspective, with gunsmiths I know, August till now is about the time for a normal wait, due to their workload - unless it's a quickie.

Check out what's posted on his website this afternoon: http://www.pinnacle-guns.com/ .

I don't think you have anything to worry too much about.  I'd send him an email.  He sounds like a class act.
