Love my Marlin 60 (Glenfield actually)
« on: September 24, 2011, 08:03:27 PM »
Blasted a few hundred rounds today with great luck.  Took pics of a couple groups of 35 yard steady fires (ie. soon as cross hairs on bull with no breathing pauses).  The first pick is from a full tube of CCI Mini-Mag Hollowpoints (deadly in the 60) and the second is Federal Lightnings (good Plinkers):

The two fliers on the lightnings were just that sporadic misses come from that ammo.  It's one reason I don't like it much, but have several thousand rounds to plink away first.  ;)  Oh and also, not one misfeed or jam after 300+ rounds on either ammo.

While I've never owned a Marlin 60 I don't know a single person who has that hasn't been totally pleased with it.  Just a super rifle.

Tackelbury,

I've had several 60's and all shot good.  I too have had good results with Federal Lightnings, a Super 14 barrel really likes them.  By the way, good shooting.

I've got two newer marlin 60's and they both shoot very well. I must say they are the most accurate of all my .22's and a blast to shoot and have fun with.

Mine makes me proud.   Just feed it good grub. Keep it clean and it always shows up for work. Course I`m talking about my Marlin 60.  :)

My trigger's pretty decent.  Little heavy, but it's a workin' gun, not a polished safe relic for bench shooting.  ;)  I can put one in a squirrels head off hand at 50 yards and that's about all I need.  ;)

Just figured I'd throw out this years opening day results with the old Model 60 again.  ;)

My brothers and I shared one when we were kids, it dates from the early 60's I guess.  My brother wound up with it, and just recently gave it to me.  I have to find a trigger group for it, the factory one wound up breaking, but the bore looks new still.

I have an old Marlin 60 for about 30 years now. I traded two Shrade Walden pocket knives for it. Ain't for sale.

You see the constant ongoing debate of which .22 auto to buy, the 10-22 or the model 60, hands down the 60 is the better gun rite outta the box, thers sevral trigger fixes for the 60 so frett not, other than the trigger the 60 is ready for action.
