12 ga or 16 ga for a drilling

What do you prefer in a drilling 12 or 16 and why?

id prefer the 16, but then im a 16 guy.but if yu dont reload id go for the 12.either will do what the other will do.12 will be easier to find loads in for what yu want to shoot.but yu prob know that.whats the rifle cal that goes with it?as for why? my dad started me out on a 16. he can still still kik my butt with his 16 ga mod 97

16ga for me as well. Smaller lighter frame is why I prefer the 16.  ;)

The 16 is the more popular gauge in Europe. Are Drillings made anywhere else?

The Three Barrel Gun company in Wheeling West Virginia made drillings, but they are no longer in business.

  EXACTLY, 12ga. framed drillings are tanks, and even though i've owned a few, they are just too big/heavy to carry for long, at least for me they are.  If you have a nice petite 16ga. drilling, it will be a joy to carry and hunt with, and if you are worried about 16ga. ammo being available, you can make your self a set of these,
 

 
  slide them into your 16ga. chambers, and shoot all the 20ga. ammo you like...
 
  Once in place, your drilling works/acts just like it did with 16ga. ammo...

The 16 ga is one of my favorites but for hogs I still like the 12ga.

I just found my perfect hog gun a 12x12/9.3x74r.... ;D

  Isn't useing a 12ga drilling for hogs, asking your gun to kill one of it's cousins???

I believe your confusing a A10 Warthog with a feral hog.   :-*

When hog hunting alone , my view is you can never have too much fire power..  ;)
