Scoped Carbine
« on: September 11, 2011, 05:34:20 PM »
I was at a gun show yesterday and saw 3 scoped Hi-Point carbines for sale that had scopes on them (older versions)--I was wondering --How many of you have put scopes on your carbines and have they been much better than open sights or a lazer ?

I have an older 995 carbine with a red dot.  IMHO that is plenty.  For the record they are fun to shoot.

I tried the red dot/green dot, and the NcStar 4x AK scope, and settled on a Sightmark Sure Shot for my .45 carbine.

Great fun to shoot and every bit as accurate as I can be.  They're short-range pieces (100 yards or less) and do very well with...I don't know what to call them..."close quarters" sights?

After I adjusted the sight and got the proper reticle and brightness level for my tired old eyes, it makes one big ragged hole at 25 yards.
