New to the contender world. How did I do?
« on: August 30, 2011, 06:22:02 PM »
I purchased the following two contenders for $650 for the pair including both scope mounts. The scopes were not included. I was told that these are harder to find barrels. Is this a true statement? What are the harder to find barrels and calibers? Thanks for your time and knowledge.

1. Super 16" 45-70 ported barrel. This frame has the easy open coversion installed. Wood grips and foregrip.

2. 10" octagon 22 hornet barrel. Pachmayr grips and foregrip.

I will tell you what you already know. You did well.
The Hornet is a neat pistol, especially with the light weight octagon barrel. You are in for a lot of fun.

Yeah...you did very good. Look at it this way, you just bought two scoped old style frame contender pistols for $325 each...that dont happen. Either the guy needed cash bad, or he didnt know the value of his stuff. Awesome deal, congrats!

Great buy! As far as hard to find barrels most of the 16" barrels are harder to find, especially the following cailbers; 45 acp, 45 colt, 9mm, 44mag, 41mag, 357, and 357 max.
Good luck and welcome to the contender fraternity.
