Encore Recoil reducer ?
« on: August 30, 2011, 02:05:46 PM »
:( Does anybody have any experience with using a recoil reducer with the encore.I have been trying to shoot one with a 405 win barrel.Finding the recoil a little on the stout side,I suppose this has something to do with the shape or whatever of the encore stock.I realize this would require drilling a hole in the buttstock.I really would like to know if it would be worth the bother?I have other barrels for this,284win and 308win which are not a problem.

The only recoil reducers I've used with Encores are muzzle brakes.

You can add weight, use a muzzle brake or reduce the loads (or all three).  What recoil pad does it have?

Some people like the thumb-hole stocks for hard recoil but I can't speak from experience.

Install a Kick-Eez recoil pad and you're recoil issues will go away...

You will be amazed at how the recoil is taken up by these pads and do not let anyone tell you that a Limbsaver is just as good the difference between your stock recoil pad and what a Limbsave will do is the difference again what you will feel between the Limbsaver and a Kick-Eez pad.

Best "felt recoil" reducer I've ever found is the one I started out with as a kid... eat lots of Wheaties.    ;)    Sorry, couldn't resist.

No other experience.   I never put a recoil reducer or muzzle brake on any firearm I bought, and even the few barrels I did buy with brakes on them were soon sold and replaced with barrels that didn't have them.

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus
