Thanks for sharing Dave, those are some real beauties. Which one is your favorite out of the line-up?

I hope that choice would never happen!!! But the ole 13" MGM 30-30IMP. holds a special spot in my heart. Now the 14" SSK 6.5JDJ runs a very close second. It will do anything the 30-30IMP will and in my opinion reach out a little further. One is about as accurate as the other the edge going to the 6.5JDJ, but not much.

My first hog with the 30-30IMP. I know the grip style on this S.P. dosent appeal to all, but one wouldnt believe the ease of handling and comfort of it in the field.

My second hog with the 30-30IMP.

Small six pt. with the 30-30IMP. with another grip set that use to be on it.

Another six taken with 30-30IMP.

Doe with the 30-30IMP.

Larry, I made all the sets above but two. They have since been replaced by own work.

Since I have never hunted turkey with a handgun, do you shoot them in the head/neck or is a body shot lethal with the 22 Hornet?

What bullet & speed do you run your turkey loads?

I try and hit them where the wing connects. The first one I killed I hit head on just a little center of the breast, with very little damage to the meat. Most have not moved more than 15 to 20 yds. A couple year ago I did hit one flopped down a field and fell. When I got close it got up and run. It left a blood trail for some distance then quit bleeding. I spent a good 3hrs. combing the hill side for it and never did find it.

I use 40gr. VMAX over 11.3gr. of LILGUN. I have never checked the MV.

Here's a couple of mine. They are humble compared to some of the art work on here.

22 Hornet barrel in Dave D. wood.

375 JDJ in Georgia Jim wood.

Same 22 Hornet barrel as above in Georgia Jim wood and big fore end. It's a 2 fore end set.

I have 3 other stock sets and 4 other barrels, but don't have any pics of them to show.

My 12" 22 Match barrel with suppressor adaptor done by  Eric at EWK Arms with internal threaded adaptor allowing the front sight to be retained and he will have a optinal plug IIRC that will fill adaptor hole for when a suppressor is not used.

Here is my Contender that I just traded for.
Scoped .223 with Leupold 4X
.44 Magnum
.45/410

I've only been able to get out and shoot the 410. I think I'm going to really like the Contender.

And you can tie up big $$$$ in barrels and accessories. Kind of like my Dan Wesson revolvers with their interchangeable barrels.
DW M-15 or M-22 sorry I can not tell by picture, because of same frame size I need to see holes to tell.

Here is my 14" barrel MGM 30-30AI and a 7 point buck that I took with it last deer season.

This one is a 14" barrel of unknown maker in 6mm-225 Win with my own rendition of digital camo painted forearm. I have taken a number of deer with it but now it has been relegated to varmint shooting mostly.
