Wood stock for a Pro Hunter
« on: July 12, 2011, 02:59:55 AM »
Hi folks,
I'd really like to put a nicely figured wood stock on my receiver, but I look around the TC site and all they have are composite stocks.
What's the best way to go about this? Won't a regular Encore stock fit?  Do I have to go with an aftermarket stock?
Thanks!!

The difference in the frames is a swing hammer and that little bit of engraving on the side, any Encore butt stock will fit your pro hunter frame which you can pick up here on the Encore forum with things for sale, however if you wont fancy wood you will have to look hard and may have to go to a custom stock maker. At one time TC did offer some fancy wood butt stocks on a closeout but they did not last long, best I remember they closed them out for 135.00 plus the shipping. You might check gunstocks.com I think they offer fancy wood. hope this helps, also Ed's contrnders who is a sponser on the hand gun forum may also be a good place to check.

I put a Boyd's laminate thumb hole stock and fore end on my Encore, works and looks great. I am using the rifle and muzzle loader walnut fore ends on my Encore pistol barrels.

Check out the stocks from E. Authur Brown Co..  I just received a camo laminated thumbhole stock set.  Looks and fits great.  Good price too.
