On the evenings of June 17th and June 24th I fished with family on the South Canadian river in Southeastern OK. On the 18th I had the best rod and reel catfishing trip of all times. The river was down and we located a deep still hole 12 to 18 ft deep near a railroad bridge.With my twin brother we caught 30 blues and channels the smallest was two pounds and the largest was a slightly over 8 pound blue. The majority of the fish weighed between three and five pounds.I filled 4 gallon bags of fillets.We then took our 93 year old father on the 24th and with four of us we caught 57 from one pound to a 10 plus pound blue. We could have limited out easliy but I was helping my father when they were really biting. But I did get to catch the 10 pounder. For the most part they were smaller and only filleted out three gallons and a small bag but the Ole man had a blast. We were using lited slip corks I made, over punchbait on #4 red Eagle Claw trebles fished 8' to 12' deep. I used #17 yellow Stren on a 808, but my brother used a 33 with #8 Trilene and only lost one small fish to a break off caused by pinching his line unhooking another fish with pliers. The hole has filled in and the water is way hot now so off to the lake till we get some rain here. Here is a picture of the fish from the trip with our dad.
