Question about extractors
« on: June 24, 2011, 08:12:13 AM »
Hi, I am trying to get a 45 acp extractor from T/C for a contender.  First order they sent a .444 marlin for the contender (i did order one) and some kind of encore extractor.  I called and they said they would retry on the 45 acp.  They sent another extractor that looks just like my .444 marlin extractor they sent earlier.  To my knowledge, the 45 acp extractors are suppose to have a slit on the bottom for a leaf spring for the extractor to function properly.  None of the extractors they have sent me so far have one.  Does any have a picture of a proper .45 acp extractor?

I don't have a picture nor do I currently own a 45acp barrel,  but you are correct, the 45acp extractor has to be spring loaded while the 444Marlin being a rimmed cartridge, is not.
