UPS stopped by
« on: June 13, 2011, 06:11:44 PM »
Well the UPS truck stopped by with my 357 talo 8). Opened the box, pulled out the gun and thought to myself, self I thought this barrel would have sights on it. Looked further down the barrel and there was a rear sight. Looked in the box and there was a front sight, dug in the cardboard where the barrel had been and found the screw :o. Quality stuff here for $191.00 to your door. Well it looks good and locks up tight. Hope it shots good.

I had hoped to use the open sights on this one but I have trouble getting my head down low enough to sight it. Anyone else have this problem with the short barrel with open sights? May have to whittle on the stock some.
My remember'er is broke, but my forgetter is getting better.

For me, the 'Monte Carlo' comb prevents getting comfortably down to sights, the plain comb stocks are no problem.
Likewise, the other way around for scope use, with low rings the MC gets me right behind the bell.

That's a good price. Who did you order it from?

H&R...
Well thanks for that fine report Pete. I am setting here waiting for the UPS truck to bring my 357 accessory barrel and you tell me how great the 32-20 is. Looks like I will be in the market for one of those soon.

Yep, H&R. That price is the barrel ONLY, but it is soooo cute. I will see this afternoon how it shoots.

I have a topper butstock I can borrow of the 20 ga. that looks like it might get me lined up with the sights. I will try that first.

Did you send it in with a monte carlo stock on it? I had to buy a couple shotgun stocks to have around for the 44/.20ga combo gun and any open sight gun, the monte keeps you just too high off the sights to be comfortable or accurate.  thejanitor
