67 lbs of catfish
« on: April 28, 2011, 01:53:48 PM »
Just finished cleaning 67 lbs. of catfish.  It netted 21 lbs. of fillets. :o
I fished lake Conroe here in Texas and the shad are on the bulkheads!  When that happens, everything that eats shad are there also.
My lovely wife and I caught 24 catfish today with a total weight of 67 lbs.  The biggest was 4 lbs. 8 oz.  It was a good average weight.
The freezer is going to fill up again this summer.. 8)
Lake Conroe is the closest lake to our house (38 miles) and is our catfish lake.  We fish for bass at lake Bastrop which is 110 miles away. :P
So at gas prices today, bass fishing is around an $85 round trip. :'(
Cat fishing at least puts food in the freezer. ::)
It was a fun day! 8)
