Open Water Beaver Float Question.
« on: March 25, 2011, 07:31:27 AM »
For you beaver trappers who have made your own floats... How do you keep you 330's from slipping out due to the current or anything else? Do you use hooks & rubber bands to keep them in the slots?

Ron.....

I don't know how to post what you need,so I'll tell ya.

Go to www.huntingpa.com Scroll down to the trapping fourm.Go to back to page #5.It's listed as "The death Yacht".It's a slick idea.If you can post it here, others might want to see it...

Thanks Frank. I speak with Bobcat here & there in another trapping forum and seen that before. He cut the end slots so the springs fits snuggly in the end. I did the same thing yesterday but what else I did was screw hooks in the ends (top & bottom) and will secure it with heavy rubber bands just in case. The springs on a 330 will break the rubber bands when set off. At least I have the common sence to hook the chain to the float! LOL

It has taken at least one beaver that I'm aware of. Bobcat posted photos with the catch.
