sps free floated

my new 700 sps varmint is not free floated. should it be? i got my dies and now have some loads together but have not tried it yet. are your sps varmints free floated from factory? thank you

ive got two sps rems but there not the varmit weight ones. Niether were free floaded. I floated and bedded both.

No none of my SPS Varmint rifles came free floated nor have I bothered to float them or even bed them. Shoot the gun and see how well it shoots most likely all it will need is a trigger adjustment to lower it to 3 pounds or so. That's generally all I do to my Remington rifles and especially the Varmint rifles just never seem to need more.

I agree.  My 700 varmint 223 I just got was not free floated, but having shot it, I don't think it needs it.  Getting groups less than an inch mostly.  My friend did free float his 700 ADL heavy barrel 223 but it did not seem to improve it.  However, it was shooting very good before anyway.  This guy just likes to bed guns.
Go burn some powder.

very good. thanks guys. i was really curious to see if it might have been a factory feature or not. i'm expecting nice accuracy from this rifle. my first heavy barrel centerfire

today was my first chance to shoot the .22-250. very pleased with the shooting and feeding of the rounds. the weaver scope is great too. honestly the image is very clear. this is a 6x and i see hits at 100 better than 9x bushnell banner. last group was 8 shots in 1". various cases that i put together just to sight in
