LBT lube delay and shipping info
« on: March 21, 2011, 11:07:55 AM »
Hi Veral, I had ordered a mould, the book and some lube by mailing in a check on the 17th of Feb, and the check has cleared.  I'm not overly concerned about it not being here yet, except that I recently had a package stolen off my porch and I hope my stuff from you didn't have the same fate.  So I thought I would ask on the board here instead of by email (for the benefit of other readers here) so maybe others won't ask these questions in the future and take more of your time.   I'm only obsessing about it because I'm super excited to cast with one of your moulds.

1.  Is the lube still holding up orders?  You had mentioned a couple of weeks ago that your lube making apparatus had sprung a leak and was delaying lube-containing orders like mine.

2.  What shipment method do you usually use (UPS, USPS, etc.).  Does it go insured or delivery confirmation?  Again, I'm just concerned because I had a package stolen recently.

3.  What is the expected turnaround time these days?  It's been 5 weeks or so for me, at what point should a customer contact you to check the status of their order? Sorry if I am jumping the gun but I want to get casting some of your boolits  :P

I couldn't find this addressed elsewhere in the forum or on your site, sorry if I missed it.

Thanks!
Gene

You chose the wrong place to ask this question as it's a personal matter, yet it is good information right now, as the breakdown of the lube making equipment put us behind quite a bit.

As of today, the lube equipment has been on line for a few days, and all lube orders are filled.

We don't ship part orders, but if there is an out of stock on one item, hold all till the out of stock item is made.  Backorder is never an issue here, it is simply my ability to produce fast enough at times, as I make everything we sell myself.  To prevent backorder problems from our bulk suppliers I make it a point to keep all necessary materials in stock if at all possible.

Whenever possible we ship by UPS ground.  If outside the lower 48 states we use first class mail.

As you may well be aware after reading the above, expected turnaround time changes by the minute around here, when the unexpected changes my expectations.  I currently have a few very recent mold orders to cut and should have them out sometime next week.

Never hesitate to contact me about lost or late orders, and don't even bother to appoligize if you think you are bugging us too regular.   It is FAR better to be 'bugged' a little by anxious customers, and be able to take the worry off their minds, than to have a customer wait way longer than they should to yell at us.  Sometimes it is hard to find lost orders that have dropped by shippers when the wait is too long.    This might make it easier and quicker for anyone with such a problem.   I'll return your call if you don't get a live answer.    1 208 267 3588
