Rossi M92 Stainless

Who has a Rossi M92 in stainless steel? I'm about to order a 44 mag and am contemplating stainless versus blued. Any advantages or disadvantages? Thanks, Charlie

I have one in .454 Casull. Great little gun. Mine has the short 16" barrel. Very handy little gun. The action was stiff when purchased but is getting smoother with use.

What is it gonna be used for, hunting or playing.  The stainless is more rust resistant but will rust, just takes longer.  The stainless is bright but not real shiny.  Some people think it should be blued and walnut, others like stainless and walnut.  Which do you like?  DP

I've got a M92 16" .357 stainless model and I actually like the stainless and wood look.  They are probably too shiny for some hunters but I don't feel too bad if I'm out in the weather for a day...she wipes right up and looks good as new.  I am contemplating refinishing the stock though...the brown-tone stain that came on my stock kinda "runs" and blotches if rain water gets on it.  I've touched 'er up a time or two with brown shoe polish after a rainy day's shooting and it looks like brand new.  I just want a little more water resistant wood finish on it so I don't have to do cosmetic work when I get home.  They say you can fix a scratch with very fine 0000 steel wool on the stainless steel...might give me the heebee-jeebees to try that though. :-X

I'm not an OCD freak about the gun...just wanna keep it as nice as possible as long as possible.  They look cooler actually after the wear begins to show on them.

I originally wanted stainless, but ended up with blue because it was on the rack at a local dealer, and I could inspect it.


Didn't want to order one and risk getting a turd.


Too old to hunt in the rain, anyway.

I have two Rossi in stainless and one in Blue. They all shoot amazingly well!

Here is a target that I shot today with my Brass frame 1892, 45LC....This target was at 50yds and the rifle shot five groups like this in a row. Lyman tang sight and Marbles white dot front sight.





This one I converted to Take Down



And here is the blue one in 454 Casull
