The Search is Over----Well----for now at least

In a previous post I had a couple scopes that needed homes----here's what I finally wound up with.

1. Ruger 77 Compact---stainless ---.308---it wears a Burris Fullfield II 3x9x40 Ballistic-plex reticle----this scope came off one of my trade-ins for my Sako.

2. Sako 75---stainless/wood----.338----Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40---still need to round up some ring mounts. Been lazy about completing the rig.

3. Browning Acera straight pull bolt action----blued/wood----.30-06---no BOSS-----Meopta 3x9x42 30mm----again, need to get scope mounts---but I only have owned it for a day now.

The Acera has been sitting on the dealer's rack for about 3 years now---I have looked it over many times--but never really considered it because of the price----the price got REALLY ''right" this time----cheaper than a Ruger or Tikka---plus I already have 3 Tikka's----so was lookin for some thing different.

The Acera was originally priced at $750--------then $700 after about a year---then $650 for the longest time----then $550 when I looked it over around Thanksgiving---almost bought it then----looked at it last sunday----$429---SOLD!!!

It uses BAR magazines and scope mounts---so no big deal on getting it all outfitted------I'll try to get it all put together and shoot it over the holiday----hopefully.

Omaha, you must be living right.  And you sure are patient on waiting for guns!!  I have not been able to restrain myself like that.  Maybe you should right a book on how to keep your money in your pocket, at least for a while. :-)

Also have to add------it has a beautifull walnut stock--matte finished----and it seems to have harder wood than most A-Bolts and Citori's I've seen. As in ding proof.
