SBS wally world Rifle
« on: March 04, 2011, 06:32:00 PM »
My wife and I bought a 270 SBS Handi at wal-mart this week.
It came with a scope. This is my first handi and I would like to know if there is anything speceal I need to do.
I checked the for grip and it is free all the way to the barrel stud.
and I locktited the scope down.
Does any one else have experience with the SBS
If there is anything else i kneed to know? please tell me.
Thank You

Welcome! The SBS model designation just means it's a scoped combo, the second S=scoped, the actual frame type is SB2, it's no different than any other SB2 270 Handi, except it comes with an offshore made, no name scope, pretty much like other package rifles made by Remington and other mfrs.  ;) What ear said.  ;D

Welcome aboad L21.
You have found the premier Handi site in the world. Scratch that, the universe.
Like has already been said check the FAQ's and Handi 101 threads at the top of the H&R / NEF forum.

My advice is give it a good cleaning and take it out and shoot it.
Any problems come back hear and discuss it with the true experts we have here.

I wasn't a much more than of the thought Handi's were just good truck guns before finding this site.
I am now like many others here, addicted to them. ;D
They are great guns that lend themselves to many different applications.

And here I thought they had a new side by side rifle on the market I'd missed.  Still looking for an inexpensive, American made, twice-barreled .45-70, myself!
I told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. "Make your life go here, son. Here's where the people is. Them mountains is for Indians and wild men." "Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline

Thanks for the reply's,
Got out to shoot it to day. the scope and the rings seem to be accurate and solid (for a cheepe scope)
sighted it in at 50 yds (long as i could) held about 1in off hand.
i'm very happy with this rifle (blowing up water jugs does that  ;D)
