My semi-broken model 83...
« on: March 03, 2011, 06:59:40 PM »
I have a Model 83 Field Grade .454 that will not catch half cock (or any other notches) unless it is pointed down.  I am assuming that this is a broken trigger return spring.  Would this be correct?  Will Freedom sell me a new spring without having to send it in to be fixed?  I am stationed overseas, and the gun is in storage in the states, so sending it is not possible.  I'm hoping to have it fixed so that I can shoot it next time I'm home in a couple months.

Thanks for your help.

It does sound like a trigger spring.

Call (ask for John) or email Freedom Arms and explain your problem.  They will work with you to fix the problem.  They've never had a problem sending me springs.
