The gun shop here has a carbine barrel in 460 S&W. Other than I dont have it what would I ever use it for?

Great Deer barrel for tight quarters. I use a Marlin 45LC for close tree stand gun where I don't have a 75 yard open shot. Working on a cat sneeze load for it.

From what I have read in the past, they are difficult to find a load to shoot well, and unless you reload, the ammo is expensive. You should also have the option of using 454 casull or 45LC in the barrel, but I would call T/C to see if it is OK first.

Unless you already have a 45-70 that can be loaded to all three levels of the 460 and above in case something large excaped from the circus or zoo.  The 460 in all three levels will be a great for Deer, bear, and pigs in the woods or brush country.

The 45-70 will do everything so much better why bother with a gun that the ammo is hard to find.

The 460 makes a great pistol cartridge, I carry one.  But I just can not see it as a rifle cartridge.  I carry a single shot TCR in 45-70 or .338WM with the 460 pistol on my belt as back-up.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
