How did you get your forum name...
« on: February 24, 2011, 02:45:46 AM »
Ok i'm bored!!!I need to start a job LOL....Waiting for the dang weather to break..

Story of the ..Ewok

I have 3 sons. When my 2nd son started to talk, no one could understand him,but his older brother could for some reason. My 2nd son would say blah-blah-blah.My wife and I would just look at each other confused. My oldest son would say,mom he wants a drink, mom he's hungry or mom he wants his matchbox cars.We had no clue what this kid was saying. All I can tell you that he sounded like a EWOK off of Star-Wars.

Now the rest of the story!!!

Trying to make a long story short!!! In the back yard I fenced off an area under a Big shade tree,so the kids could go out and play. It's easier to keep the critters in one spot that way.I had a garden that butted up to the back of that play area.Well one day i went out and saw Mr.Possum digging in my new planted garden.I ran back inside for the 22,time I got back he was gone.I said to myself, self I'll fix that.I had no box trap,so the next best thing is a cubby .I made a cubby out of fire wood and baited it with jelly.I went in the shed for a trap,Dang! all my coils are waxed already.I'm not screwing them up for a possum! So I found a old #1 long spring on the wall.I bedded the trap,ta-da all set!!! I wasn't even thinking of the kids.Well I made the cubby to close to the fence. The wife left the kids out for awhile later in the day.The wife and I where making stuff for the grill in the kitchen and hear WHAAAAAAA. I ran out,Needless to say I caught an Ewok..He stuck his hand thru the fence to play with the fresh dirt LMAO.Yeah I felt bad.Hind sight is 20/20,but you gotta lol...

I was sure glad i didn't use a new coil spring!!!!Never said I was the brightest bulb in the box either..He's 15 now and loves to trap!!!

  Take care for now   Frank....AKA.....Ewoktrapper!!!

I've been blessed enough to work outside for myself (at the time 25 yrs.) as a contractor for the Natural Resorces Conservation Service. I maintain the stability of the "watershed lakes" (flood resavoir) structures  in 4 counties around where I live. I needed a password one day for something else and came up w/this.

I got tagged with Grim ( short for grimjim) by some guys I used to ride with. They have all since moved away or passed away but the name stuck. They said I always look ticked off. I'm really not. I guess I just look that way.

I was given the nickname bubba back in 3rd grade.  I t has just stuck.  More people addess me as bubba than my given name.  I have neices and nephews who call me uncle bubba.  Just natural tome now.  My coworkers love it when we are out and I see someone I know and they call me bubba.

Mine take a little more to explain so here goes. At the fire station I got hung with the name McGyver after the guy in the old TV show. I'm a diver so in the TV show McGyver was diving for something. Hence the Assitant Chief decided the guys could call me "McGyver the diver." That was quickly shortened to McGyver and now 20+ years later some of the older guys still call me that. Most the young guys now call me just "Old Guy."
But anyway
Back in the late 90s I inheirted my first computer when my sister up graded to bigger better. She came and help me set up the old 386 computer and get my e-mail account set. Well I wanted to use the Mcgyver handle on the internet for my e-mail address. But at the time there were thousands of McGyvers. Not wanting to be McGyver1001 my sister went back to the old "McGyver The Diver" but then she shorten it.
Thus I became on the internet  the one and only "Macthediver"
Which many I visited with regularly then shorten to!

Hope it's ok to come in late?  x472 Translates to,  Ex - 472x1B/A . I am retired from the Air Force and these numbers and letters were my job description/classifer. I worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, hence B= refueling trucks/equip. A= firetrucks/ equip. B was my primary and A was my  secondary. The little x was the skill level 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 level. 47xxxx/x was vehicle maintance job classifer for the whole Air Force. The 2 was heavy equipment. ( can't remember the other sections ie, body shop, genral purpose, minor maint., tire shop, etc. )  That's it in a nut shell. But, I can honestly say that I have been in places that most people never heard of and seen things that most people only see in National Geographic magazine. Thanks

Sold nightcrawlers when I was a kid. My cousin started it and I chased him around the yard with a hammer. He saw how much it ticked me off and he would call me worm everytime he saw me. I guess people just thought it fit. That was 35 years ago and Im still worm. The wife added the bobskey, why I don't know.

Last name is McDonald and one of the guys Dad hunted with called Dad James Rabbit McDuck.
It started out as McDucks kid then some how turned into Bob's kid McDuck.
The McDuck thing stuck to me by the time I was in College and when I was looking for an E mail I didn't want to be
McDuck 812 or something like that. Since I had just come back from hunting wood ducks I had McWoodduck as an E-mail and it was easy to enter here.
Also the handle "Pain in the butt know it all" was too long or already taken.   ;D
