Did I do good?

Found this while checking out the case at a local gun shop.
G2 stainless with 35 Remington "Super 14" barrel, fiber optic open sights. The shop owner said he was told the barrel was originally blued but had been stripped down and refinished with a silver finish, and ported by the previous owner. Additional 14" 22 LR Match barrel with a Burris 1.5-4 scope, Weaver base, and rings. Boyt Contender case.
$250.00 for all!

I am shocked that you even had to ask, the extra barrel and scope is worth what you paid for whole rig.

Yep, I feel real bad!!! Especially since in the past I thought this guy's peices were a little high. The story he told me is that he got the Contender in a deal with a lot of other stuff he made a killing on, so he passed the gains along. The other guys working in the shop were also shocked at the price, and asked him why. He told them he just wanted to see if there were any real gun guys coming into his shop. He got his answer when I walked in the door!

You're absolutely right Hopalong7. I have already bought a Weaver 4X blued scope for the rimfire barrel, and moved the Burris to the 35 Remington. With horrible results I might add. The 1 1/2" group @ 100 yds with the 35 was completely unacceptable!
Especially since two of the three holed were touching each other, and of course the one "flyer" an inch and a half away could not possibly been my fault ;) ;).
I think I've found my new deer "rifle", and it's a pistol ;D

Yes, it's only the beginning of my addiction. Next either a 204 Ruger barrel and good high power scope for furry little critters, or a 45-70 just for grins.

It,s just a case of latent Contderality! I have wanted a Contender since they first came out. It just never made the top of my "must buy" list. That is what made this great deal an exceptionally great deal. Not an impulse purchase, but rather a "I'll kick myself if I don't" purchase!
