String Question
« on: February 19, 2011, 12:43:18 PM »
I've left my TD Recurve set up, and the string has definitely relaxed - a whole 1/2" in brace height. I've got the factory Dacron on there right now, but I have a question about a Flemish. Once I've figured out the string length for the brace height I like, could I get a precut Flemish to that length (minus a little stretching) so I could break the bow down and not have to futz with twisting to get the right height back when I assemble it? Does that make sense? The takedown feature is handy for me, so I'm trying to figure the best string to accommodate that.

Mahalo,
Chaps

Once you get the brace height you want, keep the bow strung and measure the string from the outside of the top string groove to the outside of the bottom string groove. Write down the measurement. Then call Linda Brackenbury, she makes custom Flemish bow strings that are perfect and are according to the specs you give, and are very reasonable. She has an add in the traditional bowhunter magazine. scout4<><
