When they do a run of 357 and 30-30 barrels you better be quick if you want one. They don't last long once folks find out they're available.

H&R has all three barrels in stock, Madison CS isn't very reliable for barrel availability, for some reason they just don't have a clue.  ::)

If Quickdtoo says the barrels are in stock you should have your frame in the mail tomorrow.  Can someone explain to me why they keep saying there are no barrels?  I just do not understand that at all.

I hope your right Tim. if not I'm in for a long wait. LOL When I called last week they said the long 357 barrels were in stock but they had no clue about the  18 3/4" ones. I don't mind waiting a little while, I just hope they don't beat up that pretty stock!

I received a message from Remington yesterday that my 35Rem and 357 accessory barrels had shipped.
When I called over a month ago before shipping my receiver in, they said the same thing. SC customer service and Ilon don't seem to talk to each other for some reason or know what's in stock  :o.

I shipped a frame in on 1/26 for a 7mm-08 barrel and got it back this past week. I don't know how many they had but I doubt I got the last one.

If Madison says they don't have any, but Tim says they do, send your frame in.  I just got a 45-70 Talo barrel fitted under the same circumstances.

In a previous post there was a reference to long and short .357 barrels being available from H&R. Can somebody tell me what these barrel lengths might be? Thank you.

Have they fixed the too long chamber problem on the 357 barrels?  I had one several years ago and never did get it to shot accurately.

Still the same as far as I know, most just ream to Maxi which solves the issue, no complaints from anyone that's rented my reamer, see the sticky.  ;)

Ranger J, considering so many have reamed to Maxi and accuracy stays the same or improves (even with the use of 38Spl & .357Mag brass) I dont think your barrel/accuracy problem was with too long a chamber. As you know, there are many contributing factors to accuracy, but if your bore was really good I think the 'improved' chamber throating and leade into the rifling may have been able to 'fix' it.
Now, if they have changed the reamer profile in the new barrels, so much the better.

Yup, received it today, everything looks great, just need to go out and shoot it and hope it shoots as good as it looks. In the shipping box I found a Customer Survey Card that ask, How are they doing ? and says "Your firearm was proudly serviced & inspected by; Brian" Is this the same Brian from Remington that is on this forum ? Anyway Thanks to Brian.
Now I just need to decide the stock I like better, (maybe the wood ? )

Yup, I had a package on the doorstep (kinda scary) when I got home tonight.
This just took away the past few crappy days at work and made my year.
I was told by Remington CS last week that they needed a ffl to ship my package to.
So this past weekend I took the hour drive and paid my $65 again!!!!! to have them receive the
same receiver that I just dros'ed thru them 2 to 3 months ago that I bought from a fellow GB member.
Low and behold. There are gray lams  ;D ;D ;D Fitted with a new Talo 357mag and that 35Rem I've been
want'n for a while. I can"t tell you how happy I am tonight. I'm just a pig in it.  My package also said
"Your firearm was proudly serviced and inspected by Brian". Thank you Brian and big Green.
The only downer to all of this that I"ll need to wait a week and and a half to shoot it after I get
back from vacation. -gary

Sounds like someone has been listening.
At least someone has took the time to make it sound personal.
We will have to wait and see how they shoot.
This Brian has put himself on the spot.
Hope he has done a good job.
We will know soon enough!!!
Good luck guys.
We await your reports.

PigBoy Crabshaw, why did they have to send to a FFL ?? All of mine have been sent straight to my house from Remington.

Ipyrek, The short answer is I live in Kalifonia. There are lots of law makers (and people)  here that really don't take the time to read or understand the laws there voting on. It's Kinda like Congress.
I'm puzzled as to why Illon said one thing and did another?
It's just seems to be par for the coarse!
All I know is that I got what I aimed for and happy with the result. Clean up quality and range reports to follow.

The big brown UPS truck dropped off my package (signature required) from H&R today exactly 1 month after I sent it in for a 35 Rem accessory barrel.  Over that month, I made 6 calls to customer service.  First to confirm receipt of the receiver.  Told that they had no record of receiving my gun and to call back in 4 days.  Finally after 2 more calls they confirmed they had the receiver. I called back and ask to add a 7.62x39 barrel to the order and was told they did not have the 35 Remington barrel or the 7.62x39 barrel.  I asked them to do the paperwork with the part numbers listed on this forum.  After some more thought, I decided  call again to add a 222 REM barrel also and was told they did not have such. Again I gave them the part number and ask for it to be submitted.  In the meantime I received a letter with from Remington with estimate for the original 35 Remington barrel.  I call about the status and was told that the 3 barrels in the shop being fitted that day. I asked what was the twist on the 222 Rem and was told it was 1 in 14.  I asked about returned shiping and was told that it would be by UPS and no signature would be required.

TODAY, I GOT ALL THREE BARRELS.  Can't wait to get to the range this weekend.
The trigger guard was slightly damaged and there was a hole punctured in the box. The stock had some scratches also, but all in all I am just glad to have it back with the 3 new barrels.  I will measure the twist and report it back.

Basically on every call, I was given wrong information at every turn. Looking on the bright side, at least it was being answered in understandable English and not by some off-short contractor whose accent could not be understood.   Guess you can't have everything.

PigBoy,

What part of cali do you live in? I live in oceanside & I sent my reciever out for a 223 24 in bull & 50 huntsman barrel & I got a call from remington asking me if I was a FFL  holder & I told them no...a week later my gun and barrels came, that was  on 07 Feb 11.  I think who ever called you told you wrong because if you were a FFL they couldn't ship it to you without special paperwork. Sorry that you had to spend $65 when u didn't need too.  >:( God Bless!-Chris

With all the trouble since the move I think I will stay away from the program.
I will continue to get my guns and barrels the same way I have been doing it.
Find them either new or used, here or there, and pick up my barrels right here at good ol GBO!!!
