exotic hunt within a 1/2 day drive of VA Beach

I am an uniformed service officer that will be detailed to Virginia Beach, VA from 14FEB-11MAR2011.  I am bringing my Bushmaster Predator with me and am interested in an exotic or coyote hunt.  I will be able to rent a car and drive.  I need a reccommendation for a outfitter within a 1/2 day drive.  I tentatively would like to do the hunt over the upcoming holiday weekend.  Any recommendations would be appreciated.  I would also be willing to trade a day of Ohio deer or turkey hunting on my ranch in exchange.

Not sure about the 1/2 day drive.  Have you looked in one of the PA preserves?

Half day , depends on if you consider 12 hrs half a day ? Its about 7-8 from Richmond Va. But you may find RT 58 a better route to I-81

Thanks for the responses.  I would like to take a nice fallow or axis.  I know most fallow are summer hunts.  Could I hunt fallow in Februrary and still take an animal with decent antlers?

Not sure , have you looked into Va. Dept. Game & inland fish hunts on the Eastern Shore ?

Have you hunted the Wildnerness Lodge before?  I gave them a call and he told me that he could fit me in the weekend I wanted.  He said that a nice spotted fallow would be $1700.  What do you think?

I hunted hogs there and had a great time. Food was good and hunt areas were nice , on top a mt. We took our own ATV's . They did a nice job cleaning and freezing meat.

Also....AXIS are summer hunts...they come into hard antler May-August.  I can't imaging you'll find axis in February.  Fallow will be in velvet in July-August.  The question is,  can you take a nice fallow in February??  The answer is...if there are any left.  The best fallow to be had are shot in September and maybe October unless the preserve is a put-and-take where the release is on a need basis.  What you get as the season wears on is what's left.  You can probably get a nice fallow in Feb, but a nicer fallow in Sept. 

$1,700 is a typical price for a fallow stag.....don't be afraid to dicker the price because if you don;t shoot, they'll have to feed it till the Fall....for the same $1,700.
