Also....AXIS are summer hunts...they come into hard antler May-August.  I can't imaging you'll find axis in February.  Fallow will be in velvet in July-August.  The question is,  can you take a nice fallow in February??  The answer is...if there are any left.  The best fallow to be had are shot in September and maybe October unless the preserve is a put-and-take where the release is on a need basis.  What you get as the season wears on is what's left.  You can probably get a nice fallow in Feb, but a nicer fallow in Sept.  
$1,700 is a typical price for a fallow stag.....don't be afraid to dicker the price because if you don;t shoot, they'll have to feed it till the Fall....for the same $1,700.
