I'm Psyched
« on: February 04, 2011, 03:09:11 PM »
Just went to the customer service portion of the website, saw that my rifle has been fitted with a new barrel and monte carlo stock and is on its way home!!  I never seemed to use my .223 barrel, so I sent my frame off for a new 357 barrel!  Ups says it will be home with its siblings on Tuesday.  I can hardly wait to take it out plinking...unfortunately, I am sitting with over 2 feet of "global warming"  ::) in my yard and more on the way!

I bet that will be a great sight for quick targeting. You're really gonna want to Maxify that rifle though. ;) ;D

Thanks, Dinny

Dinny is right. There is really no reason not to ream it out to a max. The price is right for reamer rental, it's a super easy job to do, and it really opens up your options for shooting and hunting. Just think of it as a baby .45-70.

Hmmm...now I'm dreamin' of a "Mini BC"...a 28" .357 max twin to the regular BC. Anyone at the factory watching these threads??

I'm happy for you. Be sure and post a range report and Maxi..Yes!

I'm frustrated with what I see on my barrel(s) order.
For the first week it said "Received and logged in" or that meaning.
Today it now says " There is no data to display."
Maybe this is Rem code for it's moving into a work phase? -g

I'm note sure if I am going to ream it or not :-\.  The reason being is that I already have a 30-30 and a 45-70.  I just wanted something to take up into the woods when I go camping.  I usually take one of my 357 revolvers with me so I thought this might be fun for the wife and kids to shoot too.  When you say that there is no reason not to ream it, does a Max chamber still shoot mag and 38 wadcutters well?

In most cases, they shoot even better than they did before. The throat is greatly improved when reamed to the Max, especially when done correctly.  ;)

Thanks, Dinny

That's why we say NO REASON NOT TO.  ;D  Yup as Dinny says, most shoot BETTER!!!

I have two now, one factory maxi and one reamed by a member here and both shoot 357 mags very well. the reamed one wasn't shot specials yet, but my orig maxi shoots wad cutters, into minute of beer can out to about 50 yards. Its a excellent training firearm as loaded with my lead hand loads its cheaper then a 22!
