I had a Savage 110E in .270. Hunted with it for three years. Had ok results.  I just bought my Tikka (although it is a 7mm). I can't believe I ever hunted with the savage. To me there's no comparison. I could never shoot the savage anywhere nearly as accurate and I tried all kinds of loads.

I had one in 30-06. Great gun, very accurate. I hear some are not and lots of folks call them ugly. They say the same about me but I know I am wonderful so I ignore them.

The only thing I did not like was it seemed to kick like a mule. I think it was the synthetic stock and being so light. Plus, most anything over a 243 kicks me hard. If it's not got a Monte Carlo stock they never seem to fit me right. They do have some models that have that stock but only the wood ones. They are a good value.

I have the tact 10 in 223. While this is supposed to be out of the box shooter, I have not found that so. Mine is before the new trigger, I went to  a sss trigger but I think the smith that installed it is a klutz. No creep but not crisp and 3.5 lbs, needs to be lighter. For the money its a great shooter I think my groups (1" at 100) could be alot better, but it could be mostly the shooter. I have not been on the bench for years. I hate to admit but some of my other rifles are not the tack drivers they were. Well there is always fishing as the golf game went the same way.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I had a savage 110 in the police model with accutrigger.  It was a great shooter, the trigger made the gun.  Unfortunately it was the first heavy barrel gun I've bought and I quickly grew tired of lugging it around.  I just recently sold it and I'm waiting for them to come out with a .270 in standard barrel with the accutrigger.  Until then I'm buying a sharp shooter trigger for my .270 110.  I love savages and I think they are a great value.  I'm not shooting comp. and I don't see the need to spend hundreds of dollars more to shoot a 1/4 inch difference?

Not every gun that rolls off an assembly line is gonna shoot .5' groups........but Savage comes real close.

I have a 110 in the 25/06 and a .223 in the 10FP and other than the light weight stocks I Love them both. OUT of the box both are under one inch shooters. After break in the .223 's first group was under .75 and I am a poor shot. I think a good shooter could get 1/4 groups with the .223. I admit they aren't all that good looking but the first coyote or bobcat that complains I'll let you Know.

Have a great day take a child hunting or at least into the woods. Be SAFE
