My BC Skinner sight is here!!!!!!!!
« on: January 31, 2011, 02:17:05 PM »
Hi. Got a product that is so well made, makes the weapon look cool, and work's great!!!!!!!!!   I got my SKINNER peep sight today. This item is so well made that it is beyond belief.I should say that again but I won't.This sight makes the whole weapon. Due to the coming storm I will have to do a test later. If you need A PEEP SIGHT, SKINNER is the way to go!!  I'm 61 years old and have used peep sights for most of my life. Trust me . This product will blow you away!  The Buff Classic is looking GREAT!!    michstew

I would also like to see a picture of the Skinner sight on your BC.

I've got a Skinner on my Marlin 39A and like you say it is an extremely well made sight.

Thanks,

GOOD SHOOTING!

There's a BC pic in the Skinner Sights forum here at GBO.

No pics it didn't happen!  It's cheating to use Tim's you know.  You can loose brownie points for such an infraction, and we all know you don't want that to happen.

Hi everyone. The picture that was posted is the same picture that I was emailed by Andy of SKINNER SIGHTS. DUE TO the weather , in Michigan, at the present moment, SINCE I LIVE way back in the wood's, there will be no added pictures since I am SNOWED IN, HAVE ANIMAL'S that need winter time care, which means shoveling SNOW, sorry let me repeat that, I have been working to stay abreast of the weather!! If THAT is not up to par with anyone, I'm sorry. I would LOVE to give a post on the sighting in of my BUFFALO CLASSIC,   but with a foot or more of SNOW, on ALL my roof's, and on the ground, I also heat with wood, I do not have the time AT THE PRESENT to play with my weapon, EVEN though I would love too!!  MICHSTEW

MICHSTEW, that is some serious stuff your having to deal with and I hope this stuff clears up and moves on soon.

I wouldn't make too much of the ribbing that goes on as it's all in good natured fun, but most of us don't realize a lot of folks are up to their eyebrows in this winter weather event since we come together from all over.

I'm way down here in South Texas and they shut the schools today just because of a little ice that formed on the windshields, seriously!

We wouldn't be able to handle it if we had snow a foot and a half deep!

Take care and I hope you and those animals of yours fair well with all this, and post up and let us know how your doing!

Hi Everyone. Regret my last post! Been overworked and under paid. Having a Murphy attack that started about 2 weeks ago. Dead battery in truck, chimney fire, and knee deep snow on the level. One more roof to shovel, and things will be back to normal. My dogs, cats, chickens, and horse are well. Also had my well freeze up. I took a short break today and test fired my BC with the new Skinner peep and medium height Lyman globe front. It shot moj (minute of jug). That's with NO adjustment to peep sight That was at 25 yards. The reason I had Andy put the brass aperature holder on was for looks and I think you get more light in the peep hole. Anyway it works great!! Stay warm.   michstew

I ordered mine Thursday a week ago, and figured it would have been here already, but I guess the weather effected the shipment.....I hope!  ::)

Jimbo, Trust me on this. Andy at Skinner Sights is on top of thing's! His delivery and product is beyond belief. The workmanship on these sight's is beyond cool. I got mine and had to take a second look at the dovetail in the sight. It looked like there was't one. I'm taking about the windage adjustment. I have in the past worked in a machine shop correcting mistake's. There is No guess work on these sights!! Like I have said before I live in Michigan, and have ordered sights from William's before. Had a 2 month backorder for the basic wgrs sight, and got the worst customer service I have EVER had from ANY company!!  And I have been a gun nut, hunter, and collector of western item's for year's. I am sure that this last monster storm has delayed things. BUT when your order comes you WILL love it!!  Also let me state that I have no interests in the co. however I am a happy customer!!!!!  michstew

Hello Jimbo,

I'm not an official sponsor on GBO yet so I hope I'm not violating a rule here.  When I spoke with Bill on the phone and agreed to be a paying sponsor I figured I'd send a check, then it would take a while to get the forum set up, etc...  Nope...  Unknown to me Jim went right to work and a Skinner Sight forum was created.  Now the check is in the mail, (dontcha love that phrase?)  so we are mostly on the way.  I'd been so busy making sights that there wasn't time to come to GBO so my first clue was when Bill wrote and asked if I was snowed in or if the check had been lost in the mail.

Your order:   Jim, I havent seen an order as such, there have been a couple of inquirys but no actual, "Here is my order, address, and where do I send the $"

Certainly possible it was skimmed out by my spam filter.  Let me know what you had in mind.   I built a couple more of the sights while making the one for Michstew...  AND...  One of those is actually a variation...  1/16" lower than the orig. and a bit longer to blend the lines a lil more.

Sorry if I've missed something but we will get it right!

Thanks

ANDY

Andy: No problem!    I sent you a PM

It's probably on the way as I ordered it over your website, and it's been charged to my account and probably shipped.

I must have deleted my tracking information from my emails but I did have the receipt number which I sent you, and I was just looking for the shipping info so I can watch for it.

Thanks, Jimbo

Hello Jim,

PM sent.  My apologies, we actually did make and package your sight, shipping lable was printed Saturday and it will be in Monday Mornings mail.  From what was posted here I mistakenly thought you were referring to a H&R sight.  Sales have been good and I have been working almost around the clock making and shipping sights.  Consequently there has been a delay on some sights (such as the barrel mount you ordered).  No worries, I've sent via PM the tracking number that will keep you posted on the shipment of your sight.

Thanks Jim, good to have the communication here with you.  :)

As always,

ANDY

Now folks it don't get better than that!

Thanks Andy for the quick response and it was more my fault for adding to the confusion! ;D

I'm looking forward to getting the new sight, and from all the reviews I'm sure it will exceed my expectations!

I hope to give a range report shortly after I get it installed, and thanks again for the response!

I told you folk's that Andy is ON TOP of everything! Sometimes I wonder when he sleeps! Also when you get your sight, Andy includes 2 allen wrenches for the sight. They are under the packaging of the sight,so they do not mess with the sight. Now what co. does that!!  michstew

Here is a photo of the NEF / H&R Handy Rifle - Buffalo Classic Skinner Sight.  This sight sits approx. .480" from the top of the barrel to the center of the Aperture.  I also make a lower profile (sleeker) sight for this rifle that is .420" Top of barrel to center of Aperture.

These sights are available in solid Steel, Brass, or Stainless Steel.
