7mm08 scored a ferral goat in TX
« on: January 23, 2011, 03:59:39 PM »
I just got home from the TX trip. We planned and planned just knowing we woould fill the freezer with wild hog....
But after getting to TX and seeing the big rocky hills and all the oaks that were raining down the acorns we found hogs were harder to get than we thought. My Friend who lined up the trip did get a hog and a couple goats, but on the last evening we could hunt in TX I did get to shoot one of the ferral goats that live on the ranch.
And the idea of goat stew never really appealed to me before, but with a lack of pork available the goat stew tasted pretty dang good. Here is a pic of the goat we got, the 7mm08 Handi worked out just fine.

Which one is the old goat?  ;D :D  Just kidding, I couldn't resist myself.

Good shooting!! I bet those Texans could turn him into a tasty brisket. ;)

Thanks, Dinny

Lets see where did I leave that nice feedback about you..... edit edit   ;)

I did have some very tasty brisket but it was beef and just the perfect smokey-ness (ok maybe it isn't a word but it should be.) TX was a very friendly place. I hope to get back someday.   thejanitor
