Question ?????? about Handi-Grip Stock?
« on: January 21, 2011, 04:25:50 PM »
I thought I would like a Gripper stock for my Handi but it seems that it doesn't work well with a scope. I will have a .243 bull barrel with a 6.5X-20X-50 scope on high rings. It would seem the Choate Varmint stock or the Choate MC syn stock would be a better fit. I'd appreciate any words of wisdom. I also believe someone makes an "add-on" MC cheek piece? I'd appreciate any info you guys might have on that also. Thanks in advance.

Ive had no problems with my Handi Grip. It could be a little taller, but I see no need for a add-on cheek piece.

Can you maybe use shorter rings? With the 50mm scope you may have to go tall, try different scope and shorter rings. If so you will probably have to mod a riser to use for a cheek weld.

You'll have hammer interference issues before a 50mm scope will touch the barrel, this is a 6.5-20x50 WTC18 in medium Burris rings.

It's a Handi-grip stock, best price source is in the previous thread below.

The Handi-grip has been discussed many times since they came out over a year ago, new Handis comes with them, see the bottom of the page on H&R's synthetic rifle page.
