Contact your fur buyer and ask exactly how he wants his yote hides prepared.  Some buyers want them salted, some not.  Some want the skull left in the skin, some not.  I skin mine cased, making sure the tail, feet, claws, face remain attached.  I put them skin side out on a wire stretcher used by trappers to flesh them, then turn back fur side out, and placed flat in a floor freezer.

after you case skin it scrape all the fat and meet off of it put it on a coyote stretcher wire or wood and when it feels tacky to the touch.turn it back fur side out and dry it only reason to leave the feet on is if your skinning for the taxi market and thats a whole different thing i dont have any experience with.

I guess (though the son wasn't there) they want them how you would "skin a raccoon" which he explained to me as cutting from the hind feet hanging up and rolling it down leaving the skinned part on the outside, and fur on the inside. One solid piece. Took it to get it tanned. Ron did a great job skinning it. And I got a HUGE discount from taxidermy guy cause'n it was already skinned from carcas, and he took so long on the bear skin coyote rug. Was nice to get squared with that deal as well. He made up for it for sure. I'm happy.

Jane308  if you could contact the Michigan Trappers Association, im  sure some one from there would mentor you and your son.  This would  help alot in trapping and fur handling.  The canines  would be fur out on stretcher and coon fur in.   Google the association and take which one is close to you as there are two associations in Mi.
